Great Oaks currently runs seven weeks of Urban Youth camps each summer. Campers as young as 7-years and as old as 18-years attend age-specific and gender-specific weeks of camp.
While at camp, youth participate in a wide range of activities, from archery to swimming, field games and other fun activities. Daily chapels are designed to be fun, while conveying to campers the message that they are unique, special, and created by God.
Campers qualifying for free or reduced meals at school pay nothing to attend a week of camp. Great Oaks relies on contributors to sponsor kids for a free week of camp. The cost to Great Oaks is roughly $200/child. Some of these fees are met with limited Federal camping subsidies, but the bulk of this cost rests on the shoulders of Great Oaks to fund-raise.
