We are having our best year to date, and I attribute a great deal of that success to the time spent at Great Oaks. It's such a comfortable environment that's separate from all of the usual distractions. My band students are already asking about if they get to go back next year. I definitely plan on it.

School Groups

Since the 1980’s Great Oaks has been serving the needs of Central-Illinois Schools. We offer a wide-range of services from day outings to overnight events to week-long camps. Schools we regularly serve include:

Broadmore Jr. High (Pekin), Monroe Middle School (Bartonville), and Peoria Christian School (Peoria) use Great Oaks annually for their Outdoor Education Programs. Each of these schools stays with us overnight, making use of the various activities we offer.

Geneva High School and St. Charles High School hold their week-long Marching Band Camps at Great Oaks during the summer. Pekin High School’s swing choirs (Noteables & Intuition) do weekend teambuilding events with us annually.

Regular day-outing groups on our Adventure Challenge Course include: Princeville High School, Princeville Junior High, Peoria Christian School, Henry Grade School, Washington High School, Stark County Junior High, Central Junior High (E. Peoria), and White Middle School (Peoria).

Other schools are just now discovering our new Portable Teambuilding Program that can be used during the winter months, when outdoor activities are limited.
