Follow-up Programs
Believing a child is not fully reached, until he is discipled to live a Christ-honoring life, Great Oaks provides year-round programs in Peoria. After-school Bible clubs are the centerpiece of our programs, with nightly clubs focused on specific age groups.
Our popular Basketball Club on Monday nights combines teaching athletic skills with a time for Bible study. Other specialize clubs such as cooking and chess are offered when volunteers are available to teach them (If you would be interested in leading a specialized club, please contact us at office@greatoakscamp.org.)
Winter retreats at the camp are a highlight for summer campers. Sledding, followed by hot chocolate is a must-do when snow is on the ground.
Also important to follow-up is helping campers plug into neighborhood churches. This is often a struggle, and we hope to have more local churches partner with us to transport children in their communities to their regularly scheduled services.
There is rarely a fee for our follow-up programs (although there is occasionally youth fundraisers to raise money for big events like Acquire the Fire). Great Oaks relies on supporters to fund this on-going discipleship. If you would like to know more about supporting our follow-up programs, click here.
